Rubicon Racing have leased Moonball up until the birth of her foal and to include the period until the foal has been weaned.

Moonball is an 8 year old Bay Mare who is by the great Kapgarde and the winner of 3 races over both hurdles and fences.

She is a gorgeous individual as the offspring of Kapgarde often are, correct and a good size she has all the ingredients to produce some stunning offspring.

She is a half sister to 4 winners and her dam is closely related to the top Jumps stallion Great Pretender the sire of Benie des Dieux, Greanteen Pitt Zig, Great Field to name just a few who have made their way to these shores.

Moonball has had a fabulous foal by none other than Super stallion Walk in the Park and this foal was sold for very good money to a Top stud in Ireland.

In deciding where to send Moonball we took into account her excellent first produce and covering and felt that the very best UK stallion available to us would be Nathaniel.

Nathaniel stands at Newsalls Park Stud and of course is the sire of super filly Enable his fee has been solid at £20-£25k a cover until last year when it dropped to £15,000 however with Nathaniel having sired the unbeaten Derby winner Desert Crown and the group 2 winner Quickthorn who have excelled this season we would expect to see his fee rise significantly this coming year.

Over jumps Nathaniel has already from very few jumps mares sired the grade 1 performer Zanahiyr Navajo Pass the graded and Cheltenham Festival winning Concertista and the tough stayer Kitty’s Light.

We are very fortunate to have had Moonball covered by Nathaniel on the morning of his son Desert Suns Derby win. Moonball has been scanned in foal to Nathaniel in October of this year.

The cost of owning this future Nathaniel foal will be an initial payment of £2500 followed by monthly payments of £150 per month to run from October 2022 to January 2026 at which point the fees will go pro rata depending upon whether your horse is to be prepared for a sale or to go into training.

The figure includes all vets fees and stud fees and stay fixed until January 2026.

There will be 10 shares sold entitling each shareholder to 10% of the horse.
