As you will know from the huge amounts being paid by UK and Irish trainers at the point sales it is becoming increasingly hard to purchase debut winning 4 year old pointers and certainly nigh on impossible to purchase impressive winners on any kind of budget. In one early season sale last year the first 3 home in one 4 year old point all made in excess of £300,000.

The reason is of course that any debut winning 4 year old and particularly those originally purchased from the elite Land Rover or Derby sale could fall into the “could be anything” category.

Some Scope made his debut in a 12 runner Tralee point to point and didn’t see another rival. His relentless galloping whilst pinging every fence soon had his rivals in trouble and he crossed the line an impressive 4 and a half length winner.

A talking horse from the yard that sold another debut winner by the same sire for over €400,000 early this year big things were expected prior to the race.

Ppt.ie.Review : Some Scope was clearly expected to put up a big performance on his debut at Tralee as he was sent off as a strong favourite and he duly delivered on that pre-race market confidence. Making most of the running a number of swift leaps on the final circuit really stood to this Telescope gelding allowing him to swiftly put the pressure on his 11 rivals who swiftly began to struggle before reaching the home bend.Travelling best into the home straight when a rival did loom as a threat, he picked up again to win going away by 4 and a half lengths. There was a lot to take out of this winning debut.

Some Scope was given a ptp.ie rating of 91 for this debut victory.

We have been able to purchase this exciting unbeaten 4 year old privately from his excellent trainer Michael Goff who was bullish in his praise for the horse saying, ‘he is going to be a very good racehorse”.

Purchased at the Elite Landrover sale for in excess of €30,000 as an unbroken store this horse ticks all the boxes and we are thrilled to have secured him. He is by Telescope and out of an Oscar mare and from the family of The Nipper, Ringaroses,Dromore Lad, Buckhouse Boy and Minella Foru.

We are very excited to have the opportunity to syndicate him as another quality offering from Rubicon Racing please enquire directly should you be interested in joining this syndicate.

Some Scope has to date (2/2/23) had 2 nice introductory runs finishing 5th at Catterick and improving to finish 4th at Uttoxeter where he caught the eye of both the Racing post reporters and Timeform.

We have a history of taking our time with such horses as we believe they will improve with racing and ultimatly as point winners are there to go chasing in the fullness of time.

We are delighted with his progress to date and shares are selling out in this cracking individual.
